Introduction to the Diploma in Manual Therapy by the Center of Manual Therapy

The Diploma in Manual Therapy, initiated by the Center of Manual Therapy (CMT) in 2023, is an accredited program designed specifically for physiotherapists. This comprehensive course offers advanced training in manual therapy techniques and is ideal for those looking to specialize in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions.

2 Batches have been launched already throughout Pakistan.     

Course Overview:

• Duration:3 Months
• Total Classes:21 (6 Physical & 15 Online)
• Physical Classes: Each physical class is 5 hours long and will be held at the Center of Manual Therapy in Karachi. For participants in other cities like Multan, Lahore, Quetta, and Hyderabad, the venue for physical classes will vary, but they can still join online classes and access recorded lectures.
• Online Classes:15-17 online classes will be conducted via Zoom every Wednesday and Thursday. All international participants will have access to recorded lectures and online classes.

Eligibility:

• The program is open to 3rd-year DPT students and graduated physiotherapists.

Course Breakdown:

The curriculum covers over 300 manual therapy techniques, organized as follows:

• Month 1:100 Techniques for the Spine
• Month 2:100 techniques for the Lower Extremity Joints
• Month 3:100 Techniques for the Upper Extremity Joints

The techniques are drawn from several schools of thought, including:

• Mulligan Concept
• Maitland Concept
• Kaltenborn Concept
• Cyriax Concept
• Modified Manual Therapy Techniques

To ensure evidence-based learning, books, and resources for each concept are provided.

Instructor:

The program is led by Dr. Dileep Kumar PT, a highly experienced and internationally accredited manual therapy instructor:

• Clinical Physiotherapist, Musculoskeletal Specialist, and Manual Therapist.
• DHA and DOH Licensed Physiotherapist.
• Certified in Osteopathy, Chiropractic Techniques, Orthopedic Medicine (Cyriax), Spinal Manipulation, and Dry Needling.
• Founder of the Center of Manual Therapy and Rehab Experts Panel.

Provisions:

Upon completion, participants receive a Diploma Certificate (60 credit hours), which is a testament to their proficiency in manual therapy techniques. Additional provisions include:

• Handouts for each class.
• E-books and slides.
• Access to recorded lectures.
• Practice under supervision to enhance learning.

Certificate Distribution will take place after the examination in the last week of the course.
